Payments
Payments covers how money moves when Outpost acts as your Merchant of Record - collecting from the buyer, settling to you, and giving you the records to reconcile against your own systems.
In some markets Outpost can act as a collection agent - you stay merchant of record, and Outpost only collects payments. That setup is possible but not covered on this page yet. For more info, contact Sales.
How money moves
As merchant of record, Outpost is the legal seller to your buyer - the name on the statement, and the party liable for tax and disputes. You become its supplier. The diagram below shows how money reaches you.

What you receive
Outpost collects the full amount from the buyer and pays you your proceeds - the sale amount minus Outpost's fees and any tax remitted on your behalf. Payouts are batched rather than one deposit per order, so a single settlement usually covers many sales.
Your fees, payout schedule, and currency are set by your pricing and contract. To see how a payout breaks down, go to Settlement & reconciliation. For the numbers, use the period files in Reporting.
API surface

Objects
- Invoices - Payment and refund documents for each sale.
