Settlement & reconciliation
Shared across both collection rails - card payments and wire transfers. Outpost collects from the buyer as Merchant of Record, settles net proceeds to you, and gives you identifiers to match settlements to your own ledger.
Settlement
When Outpost is the Merchant of Record, it collects funds from the buyer - including card charges on your existing checkout and flows such as Brazil B2B bank transfer against a proforma - and settles the net proceeds to you.
On the wire rail, a proforma invoice is issued up front and the payment settles against it. On the card rail, settlement follows the charge at your existing checkout. In both cases you receive webhook events when settlement is recorded (payment.settled, proforma_invoice.settled).
Reconciliation
Reconcile settled payments against your own ledger using the Outpost transaction ID or your PSP reference. Invoice lookups by either identifier return the payment record so you can match a settlement to the originating order. Document retrieval itself is covered under Invoicing, and period files under Reporting.
