Why Outpost.

More payments approved, parcels delivered with nothing to pay at the door, and no tax work as you add countries.

World map with the words “The world is your Outpost”
  1. Capture more revenue

Increase your approval rate abroad, convert the demand you already have, and lower the cost of each sale, so more overseas visitors become buyers.

  2. Deliver with nothing to pay at the door

Duties and import taxes are included in the price at checkout, so your customers pay nothing on delivery, accept their parcels, and order again.

  3. Leave the tax to us

We collect the VAT at checkout, file and remit it, classify your products, and deal with customs for you, so you can ship to new countries without new paperwork.

Payments

Capture more revenue.

When you sell cross-border, your buyer’s bank doesn’t recognise you, so good payments get declined, and higher card fees and currency conversion costs reduce what you keep from each sale.

  • Increase your approval rate

With Outpost as the legal reseller in the countries we cover, your customers’ payments are treated as domestic, so 25 to 40% more are approved.

  • Convert more of the demand you already have

Customers pay in their own currency, the way they pay at home, so more of them buy.

  • Keep more of each sale

Your payments are treated as domestic, so card fees are lower, and you choose the currency you’re paid in.

Shoppers buy when nothing is added at the door

41%

of shoppers who don’t buy from abroad say customs, duties or taxes are what stops them.

44%

of cross-border shoppers abandon their cart rather than risk paying import duties on delivery.

Customs

Deliver with nothing to pay at the door.

Your customers pay the full price at checkout, so their parcels arrive with nothing more to pay and they order again.

  • Nothing to pay on delivery

We calculate the duties and import taxes for each order, so they’re in the price your customers see and they pay once, at checkout.

  • Duties settled with the carrier

We settle the duties and import taxes with the carrier, so parcels arrive with nothing to pay on delivery.

  • Product classification

We assign the tariff (HS) code to each product, which sets the duty rate for each order.

Tax

Leave the tax to us.

The rate isn’t the hard part. The liability is. As your local reseller, Outpost is the taxpayer on the sales we cover, so the tax office deals with us.

  • Registrations already in place

We’re already registered in the countries we cover, so you don’t have to be.

  • The right tax on each order

We calculate the VAT or sales tax on each order, and file and remit it on time.

  • Audits answered for you

If the tax office contacts us about those sales, we answer, so audits don’t land on your team.

Built for growth. Proven where it’s hardest.

  • Outpost became the local seller in Brazil, so our customers’ banks see a domestic payment. The approval rate stopped being the thing I think about every week.

  • With Outpost we pay local card rates instead of cross-border ones, and we get paid out in the currency we asked for. Brazil went from a market we tolerated to one we invest in.
